A LASTING SYMBOL OF HARMONY
More than a place of worship, the mosque embodies Tilal Al Ghaf’s spirit of unity, connection, and belonging.
The Majid Al Futtaim Mosque in Tilal Al Ghaf, Dubai, is a striking architectural and cultural landmark—honoring the late Majid Al Futtaim with its geometric designs inspired by the Ghaf tree, travertine cladding, and a mashrabiya dome filtering light like a canopy. As the region’s first Net‑Positive mosque, it earned BREEAM “Excellent” certification, powered entirely by 203 solar panels that generate over 115% of its energy needs, with surplus energy returned to the grid; its water systems recycle greywater and treated sewage for irrigation and flushing, reserving potable water only where needed. The mosque features 630 glass prisms on its Qibla wall symbolizing the year 630 AD and 99 prisms representing the divine attributes of Allah, alongside natural landscaping—including Bucida and olive trees—and fragrant flora, crafting an environment that marries spiritual serenity, communal inclusivity, and cutting-edge sustainability for the future.
